Experimental Study of Ultimate Bearing Capacity of Axial Compression of L-type Steel Column

Abstract The L-type steel column studied here is a special-shaped composed of square pipe and two T-shaped steel, which are connected by weld. Because the columns have better properties than ordinary columns, it may be wildly used in residential structures. Therefore, quite valuable to study bearing capacity stability new columns. Three specimens tested, behaviour deformation, distribution displacements stresses, presented. Effect related factors on property discussed. It concluded that local buckling happened before finally failure column, sensitive geometric defects.
